About Wood Waste & Organics

The Asotin County Regional Landfill (ACRL) offers wood waste recycling to support alternatives to open burning and divert these types of wastes from the landfill. Under this program, Asotin County residents and our solid waste partners may drop-off acceptable woody waste at no charge. The materials are then chipped and used for “hog fuel” or other purposes.

The cities of Clarkston and Lewiston currently provide curbside yard waste collection. Residents outside of the cities of Lewiston and Clarkston are allowed to self-haul yard waste to the Clearwater Composting Facility on a per use fee, located at:

Clearwater Composting
3965 Industrial Way
Lewiston, ID 83501
(208) 413-6020

Donating edible food feeds hungry people, while also reducing the quantities of organics that are disposed of in a landfill. The Asotin County Food Bank was established in 1983. It accepts all food items except home-canned goods and is located at:

Asotin County Food Bank
1546 Maple Street
Clarkston, WA 99403
(509) 758-7085
